Changing Attitudes

Changing Attitudes was a cross border arts project involving young people aged 11-14 years living in Carndonagh, Inishowen and Donaghmore, Dungannon. The project is a result of a collaboration between Artlink, BEAM Centre and Inishowen Partnership Company, and the aim was to bring young people together to discuss and explore their aspirations and ideas for the future in a creative and dynamic arts initiative.

The participants worked with a number of professional artists to explore issues around their career aspirations, each group travelling to the Artlink Studios in Buncrana and the BEAM centre in Donaghmore for a series of workshops in visual arts and drama. Creating artworks in sculpture, painting and collage and gaining skills in drama and role play, the exciting results and discussions involving the young people and their hopes for the future have been documented during the workshop programme and subsequently produced as a CD ROM.

Changing Attitudes took place during July and August 2007 and the CD ROM was showcased at a screening in the Waterside Theatre in Derry on Saturday 8th September 2007.
