Artlink, the Buncrana base community arts organization for North and West Donegal, has finalised its new autumn-winter programme of courses and events, consisting of day and night classes, at Tullyarvan Mill.
The Artist Club, wich will meet on a monday basis, begins at 8pm, in Artlink studio on Monday next, 28 Septiembre. A portal for professional full-time working artist to meet and discuss ongoin work, concerns, funding opportunities and offer advice to one and another, it is a cjance to meet like-minded people and to tackle the sense of isolation that artist can somethimes feel when working alone.
For thouse interested in joining a social group, with the arts and culture being the central theme, then perphaps the Culture Vulture group is for you. This is a group of adults who will meet on a fortnightly basis to partake in arts and cultural activities – perhaps take a trip to an art gallery or a taster class in printmaking. The choice is left entirely up to the group and Artlink will organise the rest.
For parents and toddlers there is Our Time, a group that will meet weekly on a THrusday at 10am – noon. This is an opportunity to enjoy a fun filled morning with your toddler while lerning lots of different arts and crafts that are easily repeated at home. The first meeting of this group will be on 2 Octuber.
Artlink also has lots of interesting programmes for the youth, ranging from comic and superhero illustration to fashion design and urban art. The basic element behind all the yough peoples worshops is the inclusion of digital media in the ever-chanching digital world.
